Double K Hunting Ranch LLC is a property located between two state wildlife areas along the South Platte River, North of Brush Colorado. It is home to abundant recreational areas with two large ponds for fishing, fields and forest areas for hunting, and equestrian facilities fully equipped with a Luxury lodge, guest home, manager’s housing, and a clubhouse. With 352+ acres of pure Colorado ranch lifestyle, Double K Hunting Ranch LLC needed a brand refresh as new owners took over the property.
The first design is a recreation of their original logo, pulled from cast iron fencing throughout the property. The overall concept was a modern refresh of their brand. I incorporated wood detailing and a soft black and tan color scheme to retain the rustic history of the property and to inspire the luxurious qualities of the lodge.

The second design is an alternative I created and pitched as a re-brand for the new owners. I wanted to bring in more of the rustic ranch aesthetic, so I studied old cattle brands and how they are intricately bent and formed to be a single piece of metal. Utilizing a slab serif font I carefully designed a symbol that would be impactful and recognizable. For the main branding, I wanted the logo to appear like it had been burned into the wood grain incorporating warm tones from a heated iron used for branding. The overall aesthetic is meant to embody the rich ranching history of Colorado.
